Key words: pterygium, joints, electric welding, autograft.
Objective: to identify histological features of limbal-corneal zone in experimental animals at different periods of the experiment, when fixating limbal conjunctival autograft, with use of a high-frequency electric welding or sutures after the removal of the simulated degenerative and proliferative process associated with the growth of the conjunctiva on the cornea most similar to the clinical manifestations of pterygium.
Results: In an experiment on 20 eyes of 10 chinchilla rabbits there were studied pathological features of influence of graft fixation using a high-frequency electric welding of biological tissues of the conjunctiva compared to suture fixation. It was established that electric welding shortens operation time, swelling of tissues and vascularization of injury zone.
