AGE CHANGES OF THE CONREAL ENDOTHELIUM AS REFLECTION OF UNIVERSAL MECHANISM OF AGING

A. V. Artemov

Odessa, Ukraine

Laws of aging unknown earlier were theoretically substantiated and practically confirmed by the example of the corneal endothelium, consisting of the fact that age reduction in the functional and adaptive possibilities of the tissues, organs and organism on the whole that is considered one of the main manifestations of the process indicated, is the consequence of the gradual and uniform decrease of the number of cells without preliminary damage, disease or any other pathologic change in the cells themselves. Thus, aging is a unique pathologic process, characteristic only of cellular associations, which form the tissue, but not peculiar to unicellular organisms and to the separate cells, which form part of the tissues. Aging of the organism occurs without aging of the cells.
