COMPLEX TREATMENT OF PENETRATING INJURIES OF THE EYEBALL BY USING NO-THERAPY

The clinical studies of 96 patients with penetrating injuries of the eyeball showed that NO-therapy (3 times with 60 seconds exposure) against the background of conducted surgical, traditional drug treatment contributes to rapid removal of edema in the region of the injury, controls inflammation, preserves corneal transparency. NO-therapy accelerates regeneration, and as a result, it contributes to the formation of tender compact scar in the short period, which decreases considerably the risk of development of different complications, reduced the period of rehabilitation, and increases functional outcomes.
