CLINICAL COURSE, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT TACTICS OF THE OPTIC NERVE INJURIES IN COMBINATION WITH CRANIOORBITAL FRACTURES

The work is dedicated to the problem of rehabilitation of the patients with cranioorbital fractures in combination with damage of the optic nerve. On the basis the analysis of the clinical picture of injury in 260 patients were revealed the most frequently encountered clinical neuroophthalmological symptoms (dilation of the pupils of both eyes with absence of pupil reactions, anisocoria with the disturbance of the straight line on the same side, the unilateral affection of the oculomotor nerves in combination with blindness or anisocoria). Timely diagnostics of the optic nerve injury, extended surgical intervention with revision and decompression of the optic nerve allowed to preserve sight in 72 % of cases.
